A rough couple of weeks...

To ironically reference the final episode ever of Lost, people come and go before you and long after you. I truthfully say Lost was the first ever non-animated television series that I followed from beginning to end. The series finale, especially the last 5 minutes, touched me in such a profound way that I will never EVER EVER forget that show and what it has given me. And just as my reference above goes, along with the title of this blog, it has been a rough couple of weeks. Peter Steele, Ronnie James Dio, the band Isis, the show Lost, and now today, Paul Grey from Slipknot have all passed on. I have a pretty strong feeling that with the passing of Paul Grey, the monster that is Slipknot may also be put to rest voluntarily in his memory. If so, thank you for introducing me to the world of heavy metal Slipknot and for giving me the only concert I was actually fearful of losing my life.

I have had many a conversation in my past 2 years at college about life and death with some close friends of mine. I stopped believing in religion a long time ago, but I do believe there is something we do not fully understand, something after that's just beyond comprehension and imagination. With that being said, and with what I witnessed from Lost, I now know what I firmly believe in. I know the people that have meant so much to millions around the world are experiencing something even better than what we have here. So, with that being said Rest In Peace to the following persons who have been involved with something that has profoundly impacted me as human. We'll all be seeing you guys soon! As for Isis, thank you for the musical memories. And as for Lost, thank you for giving me faith in what someone can accomplish with just a camera. I am saddened all mentioned above are/is gone, but when I think back on the memories they left me with, I find myself smiling and shaking my head disbelief with what they were able to give me.

Peter Steele (Type O Negative) 1962-2010

Ronnie James Dio (Black Sabbath, Heaven and Hell, Dio) 1942-2010

Isis, 1997-2010

Lost, 2004-2010

and

#2 Paul Grey (Slipknot), 1972-2010

Hopefully I am not alone out there in my thoughts and feelings. To all who read this and can understand, I thank you as well.
