It's a very bland yet entertaining week for video release.
Kevin Smith's latest directorial effort, Cop Out, lands on video tomorrow and although it's entertaining at parts, fails to come close to Smith's previous directing efforts. This time around, Smith directed a script written by the Cullen brothers (of Gary the Rat fame) rather than helming his own penned words. The result is worth a rental, but not much more than that.
The Losers hits retail and rental stores tomorrow as well, falling into home video a mere 26 days after it left theaters. The movie doesn't take itself very seriously (in a good way), and neither did audiences. The movie had a budget of $25 Million and left theaters with only $23 Million. Losers is based off of a comic book series and fans of both action and graphic novel-ized movies will certainly be entertained.
The Runaways also releases tomorrow on both Blu-Ray and DVD. The movie stars Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning as rockers Joan Jett and Cherie Currie. The movie tells the story of the two teen-age rockers and how they came to be stars. The movie is certainly worth renting, just based on the entertaining performances by the two leads.
Also releasing today is director Joon-ho Bong's latest, Mother. Bong was last behind the lens for the monster movie, The Host, and returns here for a look at the lengths in which a mother will go to protect her son.
Releasing for the first time on Blu-Ray tomorrow is the Sci-Fi Channel's take on The Wizard of Oz, Tin Man. The movie aired as a mini-series back in 2007 and features a futuristic take on the classic story. The movie stars Zooey Deschanel as DG (short for Dorothy Gale), Alan Cumming, and Richard Dreyfuss. Tin Man is an entertaining take on the classic story and will look fantastic on Blu-Ray.

A group of black mercenaries plan their revenge against the government that set them up for death in the Legendary Pictures/Warner Bros. adaptation of the Vertigo comic.
