Finally, a huge release day for movie enthusiasts.
The entertaining (but mostly forgettable) remake Clash of the Titans hits video tomorrow on both Blu-Ray and DVD. The movie performed well at the box office despite mixed reviews and is sure to make a splash (or clash?) on home video. Clash stars Sam Worthington (Terminator Salvation) as a half-man, half-god who must fight the gods to avenge the death of his mortal father. The movie is action packed and features some amazing CGI work which makes it well worth a rental for those who haven't seen it.
Also releasing tomorrow is Repo Men. The movie stars Jude Law and Forest Whitaker as two men working for an organization which creates mechanical replacement parts for failing internal organs. The two men work in the collections department, where they spend their time repossessing units from people who fall behind on their monthly payments. The movie is mildly entertaining and certainly worth a rental.
Ip Man finally receives a release in the states tomorrow, hitting DVD and Blu-Ray for the first time on American soil. The movie stars Donnie Yen (Iron Monkey, Blade 2) in the real life story of master martial artist Yip Man. The movie was a large success overseas and its sequel, Ip Man 2, was just released in theaters. Donnie Yen is amazing to watch as the charismatic Yip and the movie is certainly worth purchasing for any fan of martial arts.
Releasing straight to home video tomorrow is Operation: Endgame and Batman: Under the Red Hood. Endgame stars Zach Galifianakis, Emilie de Ravin, Maggie Q, and Ving Rhames and might be worth a watch based on the stars alone.
