DC Entertainment Chief Creative Officer (and DC Films co-chairman) Geoff Johns has debuted the first teaser for the upcoming Wonder Woman sequel, a logo card that simply reads “WW84.”
Rumors have been saying that the film could have a Cold War setting in the 80s and this tease shows it will indeed be 1984.
Director Patty Jenkins is returning to direct Wonder Woman 2 and is co-writing the script with Dave Callaham (The Expendables, Godzilla) and Johns.
Gal Gadot will return as the princess of Themyscira and joining her is newly cast Pedro Pascal (Game of Thrones, Narcos) in an undisclosed role and comedian Kristen Wiig set to play villain Cheetah in the film.
The first Wonder Woman movie also starred Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, Connie Nielsen, Elena Anaya, Ewen Bremner, Lucy Davis, Lisa Loven Kongsli, Saïd Taghmaoui and Eugene Brave Rock and brought in $821 million at the global box office.
Wonder Woman 2 is set to hit theaters on November 1, 2019.
