The Orthodox Jewish couple who offered up their home for the filming of Going the Distance has an arguably odd method of choosing their battles.
The new film, which follows the long-distance romance of two adults, includes a graphic sex scene on the kitchen table inside the house. Apparently, the couple was fine with that element of the story, but when it came to a outdoor grilling scene, they weren’t as on-board.
In an interview on Lopez Tonight, Justin Long, one of the film’s co-stars, described how angry the couple got when they heard non-kosher burgers had been cooked on their grill. If that seems a bit odd to you, apparently their reaction raised a few eyebrows.
Long continued, "Somebody, while we were shooting the sex-on-their-dining-room-table scene raised the point 'Well, if they had a problem with that meat…' "
The studio gladly replaced the grill and cooking utensils.
Going the Distance opens September 3rd, 2010.
